I really enjoy getting the opportunity to talk to people about marine life and the issues they face. I also enjoy how diverse my job is… each day can be very different!

My favourite thing about my job is that every day is different. Some days I am collecting water samples in wellies, the next I am in a labcoat in the lab analysing my results and then other days I am dressed fancy presenting my research to 50 people. I like that it’s different because then I don’t get bored

My favourite thing about my job is discovering new things. We are always looking for new bacteria that can help clean up the water. I am on a continuous treasure hunt of sorts, trying to discover the unknown!

My favourite thing about my job is when i find harmful bacteria from a sample and identify it. I can then use my information and results to give to the correct people and advise on next steps for treatment etc. Not all samples have bad bacteria in them so finding one that does makes your job a bit more interesting. (that is my opinion anyways lol)
