  So I got to travel to Mexico in the first year of my PhD to help work out how to make their water less likely to be changed by climate change. I heard about this programme on Twitter. There was an advertisement on Twitter from a company called the Newton Fund offering researchers the opportunity for free. I filled out the application form but didn’t think they would choose me. But they did! I was so surprised!
