I am fortunate enough that with my type of work I am regularly in contact with water companies throughout the UK. This allows us to communicate with each other with new methods and advances. I have had scientists from England and wales come up to learn how to use a machine called a flow cytometer as it was new to them. this allowed me to meet new people and share the knowledge and skills I had learned to teach them how to use the machine and see if it is something that they were wanting to use in their own lab.
