Great question, I would say science is harder to learn than it is to… do. Learning Maths and all the other bases that you need in order to do good quality science is quite hard. But I find that the actual job is not (usually) so hard, possibly because you learn your small bit very well, and it is about creating something new, rather than studying all this huge amount of stuff that people understood before you came along. In other words we are standing on the shoulders of Giants, as Google, I mean Newton used to say! 🙂
I think something is easier to learn if you are interested in it. I’ve always liked science and been good at it but, for instance, maths I have never really liked and I’m not great at it.
It depends! Science incorporates lots of different subjects. I am a biologist, but some of my work relies on other aspects of science. I loved biology at school, but didn’t like chemistry at all! Similar to what Natalie says, I think it partly depends on what you are interested in. I think it also depends on the teacher. If the teacher is good, then it will be much easier to learn.
I think that science is best learned by doing. It is through hands on activities that you can learn without it feeling like “work” or that it is hard. I also think different types of science come with different levels of difficulty. Though science can be challenging, I think anyone can do it!
This is a good question but unfortunately there is no simple yes or no answer to this. Some people are able to grasp things really quickly and easily making it easy to learn where as others may struggle and require more effort and study time. I think if you are interested in the subject and your teacher or tutor can engage you in it and make it fun then with hard work and determination anyone can learn science. I personally find chemistry a struggle to grasp sometimes however by asking for help and studying more on that subject I have managed to learn more.
Just remember if you are struggling do not be afraid to ask for help
